Heather Applewhite grew up in the studio. With parents who were both dancers, it felt natural for her to begin assisting and choreographing for her mother’s classes at an early age. A dedicated ballerina at heart, she still made time to round out her training with Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hula, and Hip Hop. By her teenage years, she was performing and choreographing for studio companies, varsity cheer, local community theaters as well as teaching dance for children at multiple locations.  

Life has taken Heather on many adventures but dance has always remained woven into everything she's done. As a young adult, Heather performed with the Young Americans and continued choreographing and teaching from the LA and Orange County regions all the way to Indonesia. Upon her return to the Sacramento area in 2013, Heather began teaching here at Fancy Feet where she enjoyed working with all dance levels including the Velocity company. Now, as mother of two beautiful young children, it is an extra special joy to return and share her love of dance in such a loving and positive environment.
