She has trained and performed extensively in a wide range of ballet styles including Balanchine, Vaganova, and the Royal Academy of Dance curriculums, while also taking classes in modern, jazz, and contemporary dance. Pilarstarted teaching when she was 16 years old in Houston, Texas, expanding her dance vocabulary to include beginner levels of tap, acro, lyrical, and gymnastics. From there, she has gone on to teach classical ballet to all ages of children in Tampa, Florida, and has choreographed many recital and performance pieces.Currently in her third year at the University of South Florida Tampa, Pilar is pursuing a bachelor's in International Studies and a Linguistics minor, hoping to continue her studies abroad. She has participated in a few performances with the top-ranking USF dance program and continues to develop her repertoire to include more modern forms of performance expression. Pilar loves to pass the dance knowledge she has accumulated onto young aspiring dancers, and by doing so, she hopes to learn more about the art of movement. She believes in making dance an outlet for students, rather than a source of turmoil, and loves to learn from her students as much as they learn from her.
